The Requirements for Supervision in the Clinical Governance of Medical Pathology Laboratories (formerly the Requirements for the Supervision of Medical Pathology Laboratories 2007 Edition) takes a risk based approach to the provision of laboratory supervision.

It is the intention of the Requirements that all tests are supervised by competent persons, who are working within their Scope of Practice and that they will be able to demonstrate effective clinical governance to the accrediting body.

Further to a limited review, the supervision requirements have been revised and republished.

This document comes into effect on 1 August 2021.
