The TGA operates one special account established under section 21 of the Financial Management and Accountability Act 1997. The purposes of the account are set out in section 45 of the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989 and are:
- to make payments to further the objects of the Act; and
- to enable the Commonwealth to participate in the international harmonisation of regulatory controls on therapeutic goods and other related activities.
