3.9: Advertising and Market Research

The Department promotes community awareness of key health issues and programmes by undertaking advertising campaigns. The Department also seeks the community’s views on health matters through market research activities

In 2013-14, the Department is required to report on all payments over $12,400 (GST inclusive) to advertising agencies, market research organisations, polling organisations, media advertising organisations and direct mail organisations. These payments are set out below. The Department did not make any payments to polling organisations in 2013-14.

During 2013-14, the Department conducted the following advertising campaigns:

  • Tobacco campaign; and
  • Medicare campaign.
